Tenovi is hiring a Director of Hardware Programs to own hardware programs from approved concept through launch, leading both the Development and Launch tracks and managing the firmware team.

Tenovi makes cellular-connected remote patient monitoring devices and the platform behind them. We are device-agnostic, and we continue to build our own core devices for the disease states and use cases that matter most to providers.

Our hardware roadmap includes approximately nine concurrent programs across cellular devices, a gateway, and new sensors, developed in partnership with contract manufacturers and vendors in Asia.

This role reports directly to the Chief Product Officer (CPO). The CPO determines what gets built. You ensure those products are developed and launched on clearly communicated timelines and handed over to the commercial team ready to sell.

What You'll Own

  • Hardware Program Portfolio: Oversee every hardware program from approved concept through DVT, pilot runs, phase gates, and launch. Manage sequencing within the priority queue established by the CPO, with cellular devices first and the gateway second.
  • Firmware Team Leadership: Hire, manage, and develop firmware engineers. Establish priorities, oversee sprint cadence alongside program management, and drive root-cause analysis and resolution of field issues.
  • Vendor and Manufacturing Management: Hold contract manufacturers and component vendors accountable for committed timelines, including samples, DVT, T1, and pilot yields. Escalate risks early and document schedule changes.
  • Program Readiness and Reporting: Maintain accurate, real-time visibility into program status, enabling the CPO to prioritize initiatives and make informed inventory investment decisions.
  • Product Launch Execution: Lead the Launch owner and team through phase gates, Sales and Customer Success sign-offs, and quarantine release, ensuring commercial readiness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Own REACH/RoHS, FCC, and carrier and modem certification outcomes, supported by a regulatory and product associate who coordinates day-to-day activities.
  • Testing and Quality: Lead testing activities across Development and Launch tracks, establishing written testing protocols and ensuring consistent execution.

Scope of Responsibility: The CPO owns program prioritization and inventory allocation; Commercial owns pricing and demand; and GTM Operations owns deployment following the commercial readiness gate.

Who You'll Work With

You'll report directly to the Chief Product Officer and manage the Launch owner and firmware team. You'll also collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders and teams, including:

  • Chief Product Officer (CPO): Sets program priorities and allocates development slots, using the readiness data and program insights you provide.
  • Launch Owner (Direct Report): Manages day-to-day phase gates, approvals, and sign-offs under your leadership.
  • Technical Program Manager: Partners with you to manage sprint planning, scrum cadence, and engineering coordination.
  • Testing Team: Supports both Development and Launch tracks, executing testing activities according to the protocols you establish.
  • Chief Technology Officer (CTO): Oversees software, applications, and AI, partnering with you on firmware and platform integration.
  • GTM Operations: Owns the commercial readiness gate and deployment activities following launch.

What You Bring

  • Demonstrated success launching multiple connected devices from concept through DVT, PVT, and volume production.
  • Hands-on firmware expertise, including embedded C, RTOS or bare-metal systems, and debugging on physical hardware.
  • Experience managing contract manufacturers and vendors in Asia, including collaboration across international time zones.
  • Working knowledge of FCC, REACH/RoHS, and carrier certification processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent hardware programs, identify risks, and communicate priorities and challenges clearly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cellular IoT experience, including LTE-M/NB-IoT modules, carrier certification, and power and connectivity tradeoffs.
  • Medical device experience, including FDA 510(k) and ISO 13485 quality systems.
