About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on IT Support Specialist to manage day-to-day technology needs for our internal team. This is a part-time role split between remote support and periodic on-site work at our office. You'll be the primary point of contact for PC administration, onboarding and troubleshooting, with additional responsibility for network/hardware administration and Mac support.

This is a great fit for someone who wants steady, flexible part-time work supporting a small, friendly internal team.

What You'll Do

Primary responsibility - PC Administration & Support

  • Install, configure, and maintain Windows PCs for internal staff
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, remotely and on-site
  • Communicate with users and assist them as needed
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and software deployments
  • Apply OS and security patches/updates on a regular schedule

Mac Administration

  • Provide basic support and troubleshooting for Mac users
  • (Note: if a strong candidate is PC/network-focused without deep Mac experience, we may pair this role with separate Mac-specific support)

Network & Hardware Administration

  • Support and maintain office/warehouse network infrastructure (Unifi/Ubiquiti environment)
  • Assist with cabling, equipment moves, and basic infrastructure work at our office
  • Troubleshoot/resolve issue
  • Assist implementing additional networking features (such as access control)

General

  • Ensure systems are kept secure and up to date (endpoint protection, patching, basic hygiene)
  • Provide ad hoc IT consulting/advice to staff and leadership as needs come up
  • Keep records of recurring issues, assets, and open tickets
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience supporting both PC and Mac environments in a business setting
  • Working knowledge of network administration (routers, switches, Wi-Fi troubleshooting)
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and comfort working independently
  • Based within reasonable driving distance of Santa Ana/Irvine, CA, and able to travel on-site as needed
  • Fluent English and reliable availability during Pacific business hours
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Comfortable with a hybrid rhythm: most work remote, periodic hands-on visits

Nice to have:

  • Experience supporting a company that handles sensitive or regulated data
  • History of long-term, reliable client or employer relationships
  • Familiarity with common endpoint management, ticketing, or remote-support tools
Compensation & Structure
  • Structure: Open to hourly W-2 employment or 1099 contractor arrangement, depending on candidate preference
  • Hours: Part-time, typically 10-20 hours a week, with flexibility around workload
  • Start: early September
