Join our hospital based practice in Austin, TX! Our mission is to advance the health and wellbeing of our communities as a leader in anatomic pathology laboratory solutions. The Pathologist Assistant role assists in the performance of surgical pathology services in a hospital based setting.
Location: Austin, TX 78701
Days: Monday - Friday. No weekends, no on-call
Full-time: Benefit Eligible
Essential Key Responsibilities:
- Perform macroscopic evaluations on simple and complex specimens
- Frozen section coverage
- Triage fresh tissue for lymphoma
- Assist pathologist in obtaining pertinent pathology reports on malignant cases
- Gather material for tumor board presentations
- Maintain the dissecting space (ie. temperature logs, stain line, supplies)
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Completion of a NAACLS accredited Pathologists Assistant program
- ASCP licensure (or eligible with completion within 30 days of hire)
Experience:
- New graduates from a NAACLS accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program welcome.
