Senior Director, Business Development – Sonic Research Network (SRN)

Sonic Healthcare USA is seeking a strategic, growth-oriented Senior Director of Business Development to lead expansion across the Sonic Research Network. This is a highly visible role responsible for meeting sales performance quota by identifying new business opportunities in untapped customers to drive revenue and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and execute the national sales and business development strategy for SRN, driving revenue growth and consistently exceeding performance targets
  • Identify, prioritize, and convert new business opportunities across untapped markets, leveraging capabilities and broader Sonic offerings
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous development
  • Own sales performance, pipeline management, and forecasting, using data and market insights to refine strategy and optimize results
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and internal stakeholders to drive long-term growth and retention
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, product, and research teams to align offerings with market demand and enhance competitive positioning
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and economic factors to proactively adjust strategy and maintain market relevance
  • Actively participate in client engagements, industry events, and national forums to expand market presence and close strategic opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive business development or sales leadership experience in a high-growth environment, ideally within pharma services, diagnostics, or healthcare
  • Proven success leading and scaling sales teams across multiple regions, with a strong track record of delivering revenue growth
  • Experience building and executing go-to-market strategies, including sales training and team development
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate market insights into actionable strategies
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presence, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Data-driven mindset with experience leveraging analytics to inform decisions and improve performance
  • Relationship-driven approach, with the ability to build credibility with clients, physicians, and internal stakeholders
  • Hands-on, adaptable leadership style with a bias for action and results
