Shift: Day Shift; Monday - Friday
Full-time: Benefit Eligible
HOURLY RATE: $17.50 - $25.00/hr
In this role, you will:
Under the general direction and supervision of Senior Grossing Laboratory personnel, the Grossing Laboratory Aide will effectively apply a “general” working knowledge and skill of designated Laboratory Aide related duties and tasks, in support of the Grossing Department as a whole, in completing the daily assigned workload.
Receives, verifies, logs, and collects patient requisitions and specimens for technical testing.
Opens and inspects all specimens to assure an accurate specimen count.
Verifies patient requisitions for completeness of patient, client, and insurance information.
Prepares and sorts patient requisitions, and identifies and interprets data to be entered into the information system.
Follows proper procedures with specimen rejection, if patient, client, and insurance information is submitted incorrectly on source.
Enters alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from patient requisitions, face sheets, or photocopy of patients’ insurance card, into the information system following format displayed on screen.
All you need is:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Thorough working knowledge and understanding of computers, laboratory function, operating procedures and safety protocols.
1 year of practical laboratory experience preferred.
Must be team oriented and possess above average interpersonal skills. Dependable, flexible and adaptable in all aspects of work. Able to maintain cooperative working relationships with peers and management.
Able to type 45 WPM or greater with minimal errors.
