The Laboratory Procurement Manager oversees the acquisition of all goods and services needed to support the efficient operations of all division labs. This includes sourcing, purchasing, logistics and managing the supply chain for laboratory equipment, reagents, disposables, and other essential items. They ensure cost effective procurement while maintaining quality standards and compliance with regulations.

In this role, you will:

  • Developing and implementing division strategies for laboratory supplies and services, including identifying potential suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Monitoring inventory levels, forecasting demand, and managing stock to ensure the availability of critical supplies while minimizing waste and storage costs.
  • Analyzing costs, negotiating favorable pricing, and identifying opportunities to reduce expenses without compromising quality.
  • Coordinating with central office to negotiate national contracts.
  • Ensuring adherence to relevant regulations, policies, and ethical guidelines in all procurement activities.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring their performance, and resolving any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
  • Monitor logistics routes across Division, ensuring proper courier performance.
  • Organizes quarterly business reviews with vendors to measure performance and cost management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and quality standards.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and supplies.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and systems: (e.g., procurement systems, inventory management systems).
  • Proven project management skills.

All you need is:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as supply chain management, business administration, or a science related field preferred.
  • 5 or more years experience in procurement, supply chain management, logistics or a related field, with a focus on laboratory or healthcare settings.
