Sonic Healthcare USA (SHUSA) has an exciting opening for a Financial Analyst in our new Dallas, TX office.

SHUSA is a market leading laboratory business with annual revenues of ~$1.5 billion, SHUSA operates laboratories throughout the U.S., serving over 22 million patients annually.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This role will entail two primary responsibilities being, 1) accurate calculation and timely submission of sales commissions in addition to working with sales leaders on ad-hoc queries and analysis, and 2) supporting a variety of financial planning and analysis activities for various initiatives across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of financial systems and tools, experience with Microsoft Dynamics 360 Great Plains, Management Reporter, Solver BI360, and Workday Adaptive Planning would be advantageous.

This role requires strong technical skills in Excel and SQL, a solid understanding of financial reporting, and the ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Accounting, and other departments to provide actionable insights and ensure financial accuracy.

The Financial Analyst will be part of the SHUSA Central Office team, which has oversight of all US operations, and laisses with SHUSA’s publicly traded parent company in Australia. The role is diverse and dynamic requiring a highly intellectual individual who is able to take on multiple challenges simultaneously, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively to C-suite executives. Time management and concise communication are key traits required to be successful in the role.

Due to the complexity of the organization, no day will be the same and the Financial Analyst will be expected to be highly organized, proactive and agile in their working style. They will participate in activities that relate to all areas of the company, including corporate, subsidiaries, divisions and all business units. In order to be successful in the role, the Financial Analyst will need to be a fast learner in order to gain a basic understanding of laboratory operations as they relate to finance.

This role reports to the Director of FP&A and interacts directly with VP of Finance, Sales Leaders, Division Presidents and other members of the C-suite.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Calculate, validate, and submit monthly and quarterly sales commissions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Accounting teams to ensure commission plans are implemented correctly and reflect current policies.
  • Generate and distribute daily cash reports and assist in ongoing cash flow analysis.
  • Leverage SQL to query and manipulate financial and operational data for use in analysis and reporting.
  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data from ERP and reporting systems, including Microsoft Dynamics 360 Great Plains.
  • Create and maintain dashboards and reports using Solver BI360, Management Reporter, and other business intelligence tools.
  • Critically analyzes business unit activities and trends in comparison to prior period performance, peer performance, competitor performance, goals, service standards, and best practices.
  • Heavily involved in month end analysis, dashboard and KPI reporting.
  • Comfortable developing and maintaining financial models.
  • Understands the basics of corporate finance and has a willingness to extend knowledge in this area.
  • Extract data from a variety of systems to obtain essential information by working closely with business unit personnel to develop analysis that does not already exist.
  • Develops effective reporting tools. Prepares recurring reports to support the needs of the business, and looks to continuously improve efficiency of work practices or effectiveness of outputs.
  • Works with the management team of the business unit or the head of the appropriate department to present and discuss findings of analysis.
  • Coordinates periodic financial forecasts.
  • Participates in periodic reviews of business unit finance department operations and procedures to ensure compliance with business assurance program.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience (Healthcare Preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIF, Pivot Tables, etc.) - Required
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and analysis. - Required
  • Experience with financial and ERP systems such as:
    • Microsoft Dynamics 360 Great Plains
    • Management Reporter
    • Solver BI360 (preferred)
    • Workday Adaptive Planning (preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
