This opportunity is full-time during first shift.
In this role, you will:
- Provide exceptional patient care and customer-focused service.
- Utilize technical skills and abilities to accurately resolve issues for basic customer related issues.
- Must be familiar with the appropriate protocol for ordering, tracking, crediting, noting out and canceling tests in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
- Provide a link between the technical sections of CPL and customer service and/or CPL remote locations following laboratory procedures in resolving problems.
- Must be familiar with test requesting, labeling, specimen storage and retrieval, how to track all specimens received for testing.
- Provide specimen requirements, reference ranges and information on specimen stability.
- Receive and initiates communication from/to customer service/CPL remote locations to discuss resolution of problems.
- Correctly identify proper tubes, containers, transport media and storage temperature for each test type.
- Determines specimen acceptability, consulting specimen requirements in the Laboratory Information System.
- Communicate with laboratory staff and customer service to ensure quality patient care.
- Ensure proper specimen processing, labeling, and test ordering.
- Champion safety, compliance, and quality control.
All you need is:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous phlebotomy training or experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer and data entry skills
Bonus points if you’ve got:
- 2+ years of laboratory training or experience in specimen collection and processing
- Certification from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians
- Associate’s degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution
