This opportunity is:

Location: Memphis, TN 38134

Day: Monday-Friday, Rotation weekends and holidays

Hours: 2:30pm-11pm

Full Time: Eligible for Benefits

In this role, you will:

  • Triage, sort and receive specimens into the department LIS
  • Process, homogenize, concentrate and inoculate samples
  • Operate instruments, investigate and troubleshoot basic equipment issues
  • Perform QC and maintenance duties as assigned
  • Detect, investigate and resolve order errors
  • Performance and resolution of pending lists
  • Oversee personnel and resolve minor interpersonal conflicts
  • Employee training and competency
  • Assist with scheduling
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
  • Practice safety and ensure non-technical staff follow all safety protocols

All you need is:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous training or experience in specimen collection or processing
  • Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
  • Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: telephones, computers, centrifuges, and audible alarms.
  • Minimum of 2 years microbiology laboratory experience required
