Paterna Biosciences is a Salt Lake City-based biotech company focused on in vitro gametogenesis. We have collaborations and partnership with major academic institutions and the most prominent clinical leader in reproductive medicine, IVI-RMA Global Inc. Our mission is to make infertile men fathers by empowering them to be able to father children. Our team develops cutting-edge cell culture, genomics and bioinformatics technologies to restore male fertility through the culturing of male germline stem cells, and the production of functional male gametes for clinical in vitro fertilization.

How You Will Make An Impact:

You will enter on the ground floor of a unique, industry-first biotechnology company, and be directly and immediately involved in helping us realize our mission and goals. You will perform (after specific training) under minimal supervision both standard and novel, innovative laboratory techniques and skills. Individuals passionate about cell culture development for molecular and genomics innovation are preferred. You will be part of a team and report to Paterna’s Scientific Manager, guided by prominent co-founders and academic scientific advisors. What You Will Do：

1. Design and execute complex lab experiments, with a focus on establishing a culture system to create functional sperm from human primary spermatocytes;
2. Assist in the research and implementation of novel techniques;
3. Transport, dissect, store, and organize specimens;
4. Isolate germ cells using MACS or flow cytometry;
5. Conduct protein analysis via histological staining, immunofluorescence, and other approaches;
6. Perform cell imaging and analysis;
7. Perform qPCR;
8. Collaborate with teammates and managers to share ideas, provide progress reports, and present data at regular group meetings;
9. Train and develop skills for career advancement within the organization.

How You Will Join Us:

1. Ph.D. in molecular biology, genetics, genomics, epigenetics, or a related field.
2. 3-5 years of laboratory experience with tissue culture is strongly preferred;
3. Strong Interest in developing new techniques and scientific achievement;
4. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
5. Flexibility to adapt schedule as needed;
6. Interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
