About the Role
OpenLoop’s mission is to bring care anywhere by powering telehealth solutions at scale.
We're looking for a Senior Manager to lead procurement and inventory operations across our growing compounding pharmacy network. This role will help standardize processes, streamline operations, and support scale within a complex environment. Starting as a Sr Manager (individual contributor) there is future opportunity to build and lead a team as the function grows.
Travel & Location Requirements:
Candidates must be able to temporarily be onsite in the Dallas area (Monday - Thursday) for approximately 90–120 days to support startup and operational readiness efforts. Upon completion of the launch phase, the role will transition to a travel schedule requiring approximately one trip to Dallas per month.
What You’ll Do:
Year one centers on two priorities: sourcing APIs and consumables, and standardizing procurement across compounding pharmacies. The responsibilities below support those goals.
Lead and own procurement and sourcing across various sites, overseeing and standardizing inventory operations.
Design and provide structure and clarity, building out supply chain best practices and implementing solutions to operational workflows.
Help operationalize a centralized procurement and inventory function, turning the target model into working day-to-day processes.
Assess current processes and roll out standardized, scalable workflows with clear ownership and accountability.
Support the NetSuite inventory module implementation and the transition from manual to system-based operations.
Gather and document system requirements that improve scalability, visibility, and operational efficiency.
Identify and apply automation and AI opportunities to streamline procurement and inventory workflows, reduce operational risk, and improve vendor outcomes.
Execute sourcing for APIs and consumables: run RFPs, rationalize suppliers, standardize contract terms, and build redundancy for high-risk materials.
Design and standardize inventory control processes (lot tracking, expiration management, and demand planning) for site teams to execute.
Keep procurement and inventory documentation audit-ready in partnership with the pharmacy compliance team, which owns FDA and Board of Pharmacy compliance.
Document procurement and inventory workflows and maintain operational playbooks, and tracking performance.
Partner across finance, compliance, and pharmacy operations to keep vendor management and the RFP process moving.
Travel approximately 20% for onsite meetings.
Who You Are
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5–7 years in pharmacy procurement or supply chain operations.
At least 2+ years of that in compounding pharmacy operations or medications.
Working knowledge of 503A and/or 503B compounding pharmacy environments.
Familiar with API sourcing, with attention to end-to-end traceability and audit documentation.
Experience with ERP implementations such as NetSuite or a comparable platform.
Experience supporting procurement or inventory operations across multiple sites.
Experience applying automation, AI, or related technology to process improvement.
Skilled at designing and optimizing processes, including SLAs, policies, and workflows.
Comfortable operating independently and contributing at both the operational and tactical-planning level.
Brings clarity to ambiguous environments through structured, organized approaches.
Works effectively across functions and influences without direct authority.
Preferred
Experience supporting the centralization of a procurement function.
Experience in a high-growth or pre-IPO environment.
Exposure to M&A or integration work.
