We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer - Backend to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend systems powering our product ecosystem. You will take ownership of critical backend services, drive engineering best practices, and work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering Leadership to build high-quality, secure, and reliable systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys owning systems end-to-end, mentoring engineers, and building robust platforms that scale.

- Lead end-to-end design, development, and deployment of backend applications and services.
- Architect scalable and maintainable systems following best practices.
- Guide the team in adopting modern development techniques, tools, and frameworks.
- Work closely with the Product Manager and Designer to ideate the product build; coordinate with Architects / Engineering Manager to ensure technical alignment.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure code quality, performance, and security standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical issues across environments (development, staging, production).
- Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes; drive adoption to ensure high-quality products.
- Coach and mentor junior and mid-level engineers to improve technical depth and engineering maturity.
- Strong backend engineering experience building production systems at scale.
- Strong expertise in at least one modern backend stack such as Node.js, Go, or similar frameworks.
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs, API design, and backend integration best practices.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra is a plus.
- Exposure to messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
- Good exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), build tools, and automation systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc. ).
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture, event-driven systems, containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of performance tuning, scalability patterns, and reliability engineering.
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and collaboration capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
