Material and Supplier Planning
- Ensure material availability from suppliers to meet production requirements.
- Track supplier delivery performance and expedite materials as necessary.
- Assess supplier risks and proactively identify solutions or alternatives.
- Collaborate with inventory and materials planning teams to understand material requirements.
- Communicate any supplier and delivery performance issues to stakeholders.
- Actively participate in material planning reviews with cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate with the finance team to ensure timely payments to suppliers.
- Understand overseas procurement and related regulations (an asset).
- Collaborate with the logistics team to manage imports and provide necessary documentation for smooth import processes.
- Review past-due deliveries and collaborate with suppliers to resolve issues.
- Develop a thorough understanding of supplier capacity and constraints.
- Contribute to the development of supplier performance scorecards and reviews.
- Ensure compliance with consignment programs and manage supplier quality issues.
- Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and drive procurement automation and digitalization.
- Prepare procurement metrics and performance reports.
- Ensure purchase order integrity and communicate updates promptly to suppliers.
- Monitor supplier compliance with purchase order terms and conditions.
- Manage lead times, safety stock, and handle delivery reschedules.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through analysis of pricing, terms, and supplier performance.
- Explore alternative suppliers and negotiate better pricing or strategic sourcing options.
- Conduct cost analysis and benchmarking to drive savings and process improvements.
- Understanding of procurement regulations, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Experience with import/export processes, including knowledge of international procurement and trade regulations.
- Familiarity with consignment programs and managing supplier compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Buyer, Sourcing, Supply Chain Management (SCM), or related field.
- Relevant certifications in supply chain management are an asset.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Zoho, Odoo) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively
